Anyone who has attended school will probably say that cheating is a bad thing and that you shouldn't do it. That honesty is more rewarding than cheating...

That is complete and utter bullshit. I am a Junior in high school, and I see people get away with cheating ALL the time. On tests, quizzes, and homework. And you know what? Some of these motherfucks are in AP (Advanced Placement; college credit) classes, and cheating on tests! The nerve! About a month ago, I was in my history class, and the teacher was letting us discuss the test. A girl turns to me and asks me some questions (people ask me questions since I am an active participant in the class, they know that I know the material). Being the helpful person that I try to be, I answer some of her questions. After a few more questions, she pulls out this sheet, and low and behold, it was the test. She had stolen it the day before (I assume) to write down all the answers before the test. Now while this was not an AP class, she did have a book for AP Physics I believe. And I think to myself; AP classes represent academic prowess, and there are fucking cheaters among them? And they get away with it. They get away with it and get their college credit.

And then there's me (and likely others) who practice academic honesty all of the time. If I don't know the answer, I leave it blank. If the class is taking a quiz on something hard, some will cheat to get their A, while I get a C/D because I refused to participate in the cheating. People give me a funny look when I tell them to do their own God damned work when I'm asked for the answer. It's like they EXPECTED me to help them, which is wrong in more ways than one.

So you'll see, these people will graduate with honors and the honest people either don't, or do so with much more effort.

I guess it's just the way things go usually, anyways. The honest people always lose or get the short end of the stick. 99% of the time. It pisses me off. I have witnessed so much cheating that, if I reported who and what, I could DESTROY several academic careers. But I don't do that. Maybe because I lack the stomach to do so, but I feel that it is not my place to do something like that. Even if I want to, for the sheer sake of proving that honesty triumphs over cheating.

I don't know, this whole thing pisses me off.
